From the Artist: There is so much beauty all around us. Sadly, we don't always see it until we stop and take our time to see it. This is a very busy world and it can get in the way of witnessing the amazing canvas of life that surrounds us. My art is those moments and breaths in between the motion of the world. I see these moments when I stop to see them. I hope you see them as well.
From the 'curator' of the artist... I have to say, first and foremost, she's my wife and I am obviously so proud of her. What is truly unique about her is that she FIRST picked up a paint brush to 'give it a try' in January of 2020. Her very first piece was done in one day and I walked in from the office to see it displayed on a makeshift easel in our dining room. The piece is 'Strong", the Bison. I looked at it and wondered where she got it from. She bashfully said she had just painted it that day. She told me her inspiration for it and timidly asked my opinion. I was blown away. You just don't pick up a paint brush and make something like this without a history, training... something?! Now, she is timid by nature, never one to be in the public eye. She was not a fan of me insisting she sign her pieces or put them out for the world to see. This site, marketing, all of it... is my doing. I might add that she wanted to paint another just to see if it was a 'fluke'. Her next piece was "Unique"... the zebra. OK, at this point, let's just admit... it was no 'fluke'. At the time of this writing, she is working on her 10th piece. There are no 'misses'... they are all uniquely amazing! She is still trying to find her 'niche' and experimenting with different styles, but they are all her own. Fast forward to painting number 9, "Bold". This one has a back story of it's own, you can read about it in the description in the store so I'm not repeating myself here. So far, it is one of my favorites... for several reasons. I invite you all to witness someone who all of their married life with me, approaching 15 years now, has pointed at me and said, 'He has all the talent! I'm more behind-the-scenes', witness with me her personal growth and what comes of her gift as she continues to explore it! She says, 'Well, if God gave me a gift then He will be at the center of it.' That makes me even more proud of her.
I built her an easel out of scrap materials and a table... we converted a now vacant bedroom into her studio and when she walks in there to look at a new blank canvas, she prays then picks up a paint brush and the rest just flows.
She is a 'behind the scenes' type of person and has always been supportive of my endeavors. I immediately built a frame for her piece and though I have been offered good money for it, I could NEVER part with it. Instead, I decided to offer prints... not just any prints though, true high quality prints so others can enjoy this amazing gift that we just discovered she had been given. I am so thankful that we had paints and canvas for her to happen upon the desire to 'give it a try'. We had gone to wine and pallet places recently and she came up with a community painting party where friends and family get together and have 5 minutes to paint something from a hat. Lots of fun and a great way to gather people you care about and enjoy their company. But on this day, she ventured out while I was at work and discovered that she was given an amazing gift. Her view is to catch a moment in time that is often overlooked and in those moments be open to hear God's voice. His message to each of us is unique to us. Stop and listen.
I am so proud of her work and how God can use a simple paint brush to minister from even the most timid of us is truly amazing and beautiful. Knowing all of this first hand as I do, I have to share it with the world. I truly hope you can see the beauty of her work through your own eyes and now that you know when and how it came to be, perhaps find beauty in that as I do.
We have teamed up with an amazing printer for producing true and high quality prints as well as some wearable items so you can take these moments with you on the go!
